The Design Challenge -

The core challenge was designing an entry-level printer featuring an integrated arm capable of holding any smartphone securely centered over a document. This attachment needed to fold away seamlessly into the printer's body to maintain a clean profile when not in use, providing genuine added value for phone-driven scanning and printing without cluttering the device.

The Design Solution -

To solve this, the "PRINT +" incorporates a smooth pivoting arm with a universal grip and molded detent, featuring built-in white LEDs that automatically illuminate the document upon deployment. NFC pairing instantly connects the smartphone for scanning and printing, while a clear anti-glare acrylic sheet flattens wrinkled documents underneath, allowing the printer to operate in parallel even with the top tray folded in.
