The Design Challenge -

Logitech was seeking a new and groundbreaking method to attach its sphere-shaped "eyeball" webcam to any monitor or flat-panel screen available on the market. Numerous internal efforts with "clamping designs" had failed.

The Design Solution -

Designed as a "first-of-its-kind" universal camera mount, the SmartClip featured a three-point gravity-based hinge system with non-slip Santoprene pads. It allowed Logitech's spherical webcams to securely sit on CRT monitors and attach to any laptop or flat screen.
