The Design Challenge -

Non-invasive sensors designed to support laboratory-scale medical diagnostics. Zyomed's technology includes photonic sensors that amplify and track indirect spectral biomarkers associated with changes in blood or tissue chemistry, enabling users to improve diagnostic efficiency and ensure better health outcomes.

The Design Solution -

Zyomed’s reader is a simple, home-use device placed on top of the patient's lower arm. It utilizes a camera light path through human skin tissue to read glucose levels. Special attention was given to the display's countdown feature, ensuring an exact reading during initial setup and calibration. The interface features a modern, clean aesthetic highlighted by a colored bar graph. For accurate sampling, the probe tip must be calibrated and placed in contact with Zyogel (a laboratory-synthesized gel) using a method called “diffuse reflectance mode.”
