The Design Challenge -

As digital cameras evolved into ultra-thin form factors, the primary challenge was delivering intuitive UX/UI usability within an exceptionally slim profile. The design needed to reinforce Samsung's cohesive brand identity by seamlessly translating the aesthetic and ergonomic language of its mobile, notebook, and monitor categories into a unified compact camera experience.

The Design Solution -

This lineup of ultra-slim compact digital camera designs for 10 and 12 MP models was instrumental in shaping Samsung's product portfolio. The design employs a novel method of breaking up volume through soft, organic transitions, giving the device a distinct and delightful character. The surface around the lens is treated as if pushing outward from within, creating a subtle, sculpted form.
