I designed the iconic "peanut" (figure-eight) shape for the beloved TiVo remote control. Widely copied by other manufacturers, this form factor broke away from the boring status quo of rectangular designs and influenced an entire generation of remotes. By introducing signature "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" buttons, the design made personalizing viewer preferences intuitive and fun—putting control firmly back in the hands of the user.
