The Design Challenge -

The main design challenge was standing out in a heavily saturated laundry detergent market crowded with competing brands and bottle shapes. As a new brand to the market, Vaska needed an unmistakable visual identity on store shelves that would immediately communicate its eco-friendly values and ease of use.

The Design Solution -

Studio Backs set out to create a vessel shape that would serve as an iconic visual anchor for the Vaska brand. We created a unique bottle featuring a distinctive circular handle that makes lifting, carrying, and pouring effortless—designed so liquid fills the handle without impacting total bottle volume. This circular detail was made to be adaptable across various bottle shapes and sizes throughout the product lineup to maintain brand consistency. The packaging features translucent bottles with subtle coloring and friendly messaging that encourages sustainable everyday habits while reflecting Vaska's eco-integrity. Made entirely from recycled materials to house its 100% biodegradable and hypoallergenic formula, the final result delivers a distinct, functional aesthetic that seamlessly showcases the brand's commitment to the environment, earning a spot in the AIGA 365 Design Annual and an exhibition at the AIGA National Design Center in New York.
